Step by Step towards Full-Scale Functioning of Economy

Today, following the results of the meeting in Kishinev, President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk and Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Filat answered the questions of journalists.

Yevgeny Shevchuk and Vladimir Filat told media representatives that the main result of the meeting was the signing of agreement on extending the Protocol Decision on the Principles of Resumption of a Full-Scale Freight Railway Communication through the Territory of Pridnestrovie from March 30, 2012. In the course of the dialogue which took place today the sides discussed block of issues of socio-economic character. Problems in the sphere of automobile and railway transport, passenger traffic, transport logistics, issues of movement of Pridnestrovian citizens having Russian and Ukrainian external passports through the border were raised.

In his intercourse with journalists, President Yevgeny Shevchuk marked that “in terms of financial world instability various economic barriers should be removed”. “Political issues shouldn't create problems to economy,” he stressed. “We go step by step along this way to create more attractive conditions for the work of economic agents of Pridnestrovie and Moldova”. Yevgeny Shevchuk assured that Pridnestrovian side is ready for further efficient steps in this direction, “since economy has simple people standing behind it”. “Our decisions are aimed at stepping up economic processes on both banks of the Dniester,” the President of Pridnestrovie told.

“Our priority goals include ensuring of free movement of people, creation of a favorable regime for economic development, solution of problems of automobile transport,” Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Filat specified. As he marked, it is a “difficult process but we are capable of solving these problems”.

Speaking about complex solution of all difficulties existing in socio-economic sphere, President of Pridnestrovie stressed that “removal of “clots” should be made step by step, and primarily, in what relates to movement of citizens and functioning of economy”.
