On December 16, 2019, at 14:00, the OSCE Mission’s office in Kishinev will host the meeting of Political Representatives from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova Vitaly Ignatiev and Alexandru Flenchea.

Today, with the assistance of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, about four tons of used-up batteries were withdrawn from the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Prior to that, they had been centrally stored at the Moldovan GRES (State District Power Plant), and at the EcoPMR volunteer environmental organization.

The withdrawal procedure took place with the Moldrec participation, Moldova’s specialized organization to deal with subsequent battery sorting and transportation outside the Republic of Moldova for further recycling.

The Foreign Ministry of the PMR read the statement of the OSCE Ministerial Summit in Bratislava on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement process in the 5+2 format.

The range of trite formulations repetition in the declaration demonstrates a certain inertia of the approach and does not reflect the real reasons for the negotiation process stagnation in 2019, due to Moldova’s refusal to implement the set of commitments and the failure to sign the Bratislava Protocol to discredit the 5+2 international format.

The PMR’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev gave an interview to Mr. Eiki Berg, Tartu University Professor (Estonia), and his colleague Kristel Vits. The scientists showed interest in a wide range of topics, including the Pridnestrovian trade with the EU, certain aspects of relations with the Republic of Moldova and geopolitical context of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement process. Political and legal prerequisites for the Pridnestrovian state formation were also part of discussion.

The Foreign Ministry hosted the meeting of the PMR’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch. Participating in the meeting was also Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk.

After a nine months’ pause, the OSCE Mission Office in Tiraspol hosted a meeting of relevant experts, initiated by the Pridnestrovian side, to discuss the issues of medicine imports to Pridnestrovie in the context of the joint customs and border control of Moldova and Ukraine at the Kuchurgan checkpoint.

During the meeting, the Pridnestrovian side addressed once again its approaches to ensuring solid supply of medicines to the PMR based on the historical system and the needs of the Pridnestrovian pharmacological market and patients.

No movement within the negotiation process was recorded since the last visit of the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova. But, it does not belong to the political situation in Moldova, where the government has recently changed again, stated Vadim Krasnoselsky and Derek Hogan during their working dialogue today.

During the visit to the capital of the Russian Federation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Gubarev.
