Moldovan media create artificial hype around the so-called problem of “Romanian schools”

According to the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR, some Moldovan media voiced the thesis on the alleged provocations against the director of the Romanian lyceum functioning in the Dorotskoye village, Eleonora Cherkavski.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR reported that the police control room of Dubossary District Department of Internal Affairs received information today about the detention of a vehicle on the customs crossing point “Dubossary (Dorotskoye)” on suspicion of using forged number plates of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, driven by a director of the Moldovan Lyceum.

“In the course of the proceedings, - the Ministry informs, - it was found that one of the two number plates on the car had well-defined signs of forgery (made of plastic), in connection with which the vehicle was placed on the impound lot, and the number plates were seized by law enforcement agencies to implement the necessary measures.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that according to the results of the examination it will be decided to bring the law breaker to justice in accordance with the existing legislation of the PMR.

At the same time, Moldovan media, without waiting for the end of the investigations, hastened to present the information as another incident in the Security Zone, while accusing the Pridnestrovian side in an attempt to put pressure on the leadership of educational institutions of the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs finds the charges totally baseless and considers them “as apparently unsuccessful attempt to justify the offense committed by a person permanently residing on the territory of Pridnestrovie.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR urged representatives of Moldovan media to await the results of ongoing investigations and not to exert pressure on the law enforcement bodies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, in its turn, believes that demonstrating the extremely biased and committed approach in covering the offense, the Moldovan media try to give it a political overtone and create artificial hype around the so-called problem of “Romanian schools.”
